O ambiente complexo. A delicadeza das operações, a reconstrução do corpo humano, a precisão de cada técnica. A organização e o altruísmo das equipas. O colocar o doente em primeiro lugar. O bloco é o local onde melhor exerci o cuidado personalizado e individualizado.

Cresci numa família que me incutiu a importância de saber e praticar valores de partilha, cuidar e ajudar o próximo. Sempre fui muito interessada no estudo do corpo humano e tudo o que estivesse relacionado com biologia. Naturalmente, escolhi a Enfermagem.

Esta é uma profissão onde, desde cedo, somos confrontados com situações sérias de doenças e vivenciamos o sofrimento de doentes e suas famílias. Ganhamos muita maturidade e respeito pela vida humana. E, depois, há o reconhecimento do nosso trabalho pelos doentes e colegas de profissão, o companheirismo e respeito mútuo entre equipas, a lealdade aos nossos doentes.

Estou no Luanda Medical Center desde sua inauguração e participei no recrutamento e na formação de todas as suas equipas. Considero a formação a fase mais importante da vida de um enfermeiro. É através dela que adquirimos as habilidades, os conhecimentos e as competências necessários. Actualmente, dirijo todas as equipas de Enfermagem, um desafio diário, um caminho que vem sendo construído com uma visão alinhada nos nossos valores: transparência, compromisso, competência, humanização. Somos uma equipa de enfermeiros com experiência diversificada nas várias áreas de especialidades, mas também de enfermeiros recém- -licenciados, dinâmicos com muita vontade de crescer e aprender.

A minha função é orientar as equipas para o seu bom rendimento ao atender os doentes com segurança e empatia, sendo eficientes na prestação de cuidados. Tem sido uma aprendizagem constante. Ser mãe e estar realizada profissionalmente são dois objectivos importantes e que, por vezes, entram em conflito, mas é possível conciliá-los. Com a maternidade – a responsabilidade mais importante, que exige dedicação, paciência, sacrifício e aprendizagem constante – descobri habilidades fundamentais para a carreira profissional, como a capacidade da multitarefa, de resolução de problemas e da gestão de tempo. O mais gratificante é a sensação de realização e a procura do equilíbrio entre a família e a profissão é fundamental!”

“Anyone who knows me knows that Surgery and the Operating Room are my passion! The complex environment. The delicacy of the operations, the reconstruction of the human body, the precision of each technique. The organization and altruism of the teams. Putting the patient first. The Operating Room is the place where I best practiced personalized, individualized care.

I grew up in a family that instilled in me the importance of knowing and practicing the values of sharing, caring, and helping others. I have always been very interested in the study of the human body and everything related to biology. Naturally, I chose Nursing.

This is a profession where, from an early age, we are confronted with serious disease situations and experience the suffering of patients and their families. We gain a lot of maturity and get to respect human life. And then there is the recognition of our work by patients and colleagues, the companionship and mutual respect among teams, the loyalty to our patients. I have been with the Luanda Medical Center since its inauguration and have participated in the recruitment and training of all its teams. I consider training to be the most important phase in the life of a nurse. It is through training that we acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies. Currently, I manage all the Nursing teams. It is a daily challenge, a journey based on a vision aligned with our values: transparency, commitment, competence, humanization. We are a team of nurses with diverse experience in the various specialties, but also of recently graduated, dynamic nurses with a great desire to grow and learn. My role is to provide guidance to the teams and help them deliver by tending to patients safely and with empathy, and by being efficient while providing care. It has been a constant learning experience.

Being a mother and being professionally accomplished are two important goals that sometimes conflict, but it is possible to reconcile them. Through motherhood – the most important responsibility, which requires dedication, patience, sacrifice, and constant learning – I have discovered fundamental skills for a professional career, such as multitasking, problem-solving, and time management. The most rewarding thing is the sense of accomplishment, and finding the balance between family and profession is key!”
